What could be more important than the future of life?
We live in the Anthropocene:
an•thro•po•cene. (n) The proposed current geological epoch, in which humans are the primary cause of permanent planetary change. ● We have reached an unprecedented moment in planetary history. Humans now arguably change the Earth and its processes more than all other natural forces combined.
And we live during an extinction event unprecedented in the geologic record for it’s speed and breadth of destruction. Also ‘Anthropocene’.
As of 2023 34% of plant species in the United States were endangered and 41% of ecosystems were in danger of collapse (ref).
